Blackened Salmon
4 salmon filets
Beautiful Briny Sea Salt Blend or Himalayan Pink Salt )
Freshly Cracked Black pepper
Garlic powder
Low sodium all purpose or cajun seasoning of choice
½ lemon
Grapeseed or Avocado oil
Prep Salmon- Pat salmon dry with paper towels. Next, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and all purpose/cajun seasoning to taste.
Sear- Place cast iron or stainless steel pan on medium-high heat and lightly coat in oil. Once oil is heated, add salmon presentation side down (the side without skin). After about 5 minutes or when salmon starts to blacken, flip. Sear for another 5 minutes, or until it milks (white liquid begins to come out then gently remove from pan.
Finishing Touches- Remove it from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
